1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer. I can't change that figure, but I can help those who are experiencing this feel better throughout their journey.
Yoga for cancer, from a cancer survivor.
Diagnosed with leukaemia a year after a preventative double mastectomy, I use yoga, movement and mindfulness practices to help others reconnect with their bodies, at any stage in their experience.
As a cancer survivor and yoga teacher based in the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia, I know firsthand the challenges that come with reconnecting to your body after a life-changing diagnosis. Five years ago, I underwent a stem cell transplant, and through that journey, I re-discovered the profound healing that yoga offers, and how particularly beneficial it can be in times of crisis. However, I struggled to find a space that felt accessible to me. This inspired me to create "Yoga After Cancer," a 4 week course that weaves together mindfulness, restorative movement, and meditation techniques to support others through the physical, emotional, and mental shifts following (or during) cancer treatment. I also run drop in weekly accessible classes with a similar focus.
I also offer adaptive yoga and mindfulness sessions for anyone with chronic illness or conditions who may find typical yoga classes tricky. These sessions are designed to meet you where you are, offering gentle, supportive practices that prioritize accessibility and healing. We make postures and movement suitable for YOUR body, not bending your body to suit the postures.
My mission is to offer a safe, nurturing space where survivors and those with chronic conditions can gently return to themselves—building trust, strength, and peace within their bodies once again. Whether you’re new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, I’m here to guide you on a path of healing, renewal, and empowerment.
